My dog doesn't understand me; In other words: Communication problem

Are you communicating effectively with your dog? If your dog doesn't respond to something you have taught or are teaching him/her, chances are you just didn't communicate properly. It's important to look no further than one's self if this happens. Simply ask yourself "How did I say it and what am I doing, when I say it?". In other words, is your body language, voice tone or inflection maybe different from before? Or perhaps, because of your positon or strength/softness of voice your dog was unable to understand the command/behavior. Maybe you changed your hand signal from what the dog has already been conditioned to follow. The list goes on. Remember, when Waldo looks at you with that perenial blank look on his mug, the lightbulb in your head should come on telling you to do some self-reflection.
